De Schaapskooi
Broek in Waterland is a picturesque village close to Amsterdam. The old houses from the 17th and 18th century provide an attractive decor and have been beautifully restored under a scheme to preserve historic buildings. A walk through the village is much to be recommended. You can be in the centre of Amsterdam in 12 minutes by public transport, and the towns of Monnickendam/Marken, Volendam and Hoorn are easy to get to by bus. A café serving food and a pancake house offer a simple but tasty menu and after your meal you only have 5 minutes walk back to the address where you are staying, the Schaapskooi.
